Mechwarrior Dark Age ... And why are the new books soooo bad.
I have been colecting Btech/Mechwarrior stuff since it's insecption, I have every novel, every sorce book, and every PC game ever made available here in Australia.
I must say that ever thou the stroy wrters are the same people, that the new dark age novels just don't have the same feel as the clastic battletech novels.
But I still buy them anyway, hopeing that they will get better.......
They lack that subtle detail in all the battle scenes and the battle scenes seem to be cut shorter in my opinion which angers me. after all mechwarrior books where notorious for amazingly complex fight scenes, ambushes betrayal and everything. Now it seems to straight forward run in and destroy.
While i would agree that the battle scenes need to be painted better than they currently are, I would like to point out that with the exception of a few titles the books are generally good.
Sure they may not have Elaborate battle scenes but they have politicial intrigue and engrossing characters.
not to mention that as these books lead us into the future of the battletech universe they are drastically changing the universe in which Mechwarrior is taking place.
so i say to you all, give the series another chance and open up your minds to things beyond pretty battle scenes

I think that some of the new mechwarrior dark age books are good but you are right they lack some thing
